I was surprised that C1 hasn't got support for the 5D mark IV yet.
Is there not a developer program with Canon? So we photographers do not have to wait.
(if apple launches a new OS Adobe and other software companies are able to adjust their software in advance)

Now I'am stuck with Canon DPP and that is the most horrible program to work with.

    Looking out for the update!

CO1 usually supports new cameras after the launch as they need the actual final edition of the camera in their office in Copenhagen to create a profile. Also I would suggest to raise a support ticket to notify the team for your request.

"as they need the actual final edition of the camera in their office in Copenhagen to create a profile"

Well, in the case of the 5DS(R) all they did was rename the 5D3 Generic profile and call it a day. When they first offered preliminary support for the 5DS, if you embedded the camera profile and extracted it, it was indeed the 5D3 profile. When they "finalized" the 5DS support, all they did was rename the 5D3 profile. Don't believe it? Compare the two in ColorThinkPro. Identical in every way. Canon does seem to make minor changes to the raw files with every new model, forcing third party vendors to learn how to read those with each new release.

Yep! I bought the 5d M IV for a project I'm currently on. Using the M III for the time being.

Yes, please support this soon! I'll also need to revert back to using the MkIII ☹️

I documented a quick "hack" to open the files, maybe it helps you until Capture One has official support:

Update: I created a simple droplet (.app) for on the Mac, so you can drag & drop the files on the icon to convert them. It's at the bottom of the article.

Thank you Hans! Now we need to be able to shoot tethered, too!

And using Focus Adjust and any other technical goodies that Canon have included in this camera, right?

As Canon user myself I feel I should be petitioning Canon to adopt C1 as their standard RAW converter rather than their own stuff that they presumably spend a lot of money developing.

Should we all get together and demand of Canon that they work ever more closely with Phase One?

Thanks for this great workaround. It's phantactic to see the potential of this camera with capture one 😄
