Sloooowww Catalog Open in Media Pro
I'm running Media Pro 1.4.2 on one of the new, zippy, trash can shaped Mac Pros (running 10.9.3). When I open some Media Pro catalogs (not all), it goes through a painfully slow reindexing or loading or something of the catalog.
The percentage mark on the bottom climbs very slowly. I have been waiting for my current catalog (only 73 MB and 63.7K items) for at least five minutes and it is only 44% loaded.
Anyone know what the cause of this is? What I can do about it?
Thanks,
Gary

Did it worked better on this system before?
Does the same catalog opens quicker on another system?
Where is the catalog located, on your internal hard drive or external/nas?0 -
This and various other catalogs have always behaved this way. We had the same problem on our prior big grey Mac Pro.
I moved the file off of the external drive and put it on the internal SSD (or flash or whatever the non-mechanical memory is in there). It was still slow.
I have tried resaving the using Save As. . . Same result.0 -
One other thing you can try is to make a brand new catalog.
Put in one image or so and see how its behaving.
When this is good, import the 'old' catalog into this new one
