MAC Quad and P45

Hi,

I would like to know if anyone is using the MAC Quads with a P45 because I have a few questions. The problem we are having with the P45 and P30 is that the capture rates are good on a MacBook Pro but the preview takes a while to render completely. I understand that this is the way the new version works and that we have to give up preview speed to gain capture speed.

1) What capture rates are you getting with the P45 and MAC Quad system? In one minute, how many frames can you capture? We can get up to 30 frames per minute using IIQ Large on a MacBook Pro.

2) How long does the preview take to come up after the file has been captured. On the MacBook Pro, the preview image can take up to 9 seconds after capture to finish rendering and to display properly.

I'm hoping the Quad will speed up the previewing display over the MacBook Pro.

  I hope so too otherwise you would be paying and extra 4000$ bucks for??? nuthing... 😉

  Haven't used my Quad with a P45 yet but I imagine its fast.
  I can say that processing on the Quad is amazing.

  One thing to remember when shooting thetered...
  
  the QUAD will be a bit faster with the previews but you will have the FW400 bandwidth limitation.
  
  One more thing to keep in mind
  
  All upcomming software upgrade will focus on Intel optimisation not PPC.

  Did a recent test with a Quad and P45/P30.
  
  Got 29-30 frames per minute with the P45.
  Got 34-34 frames per minute with the P30.
