You are exactly right with your assessment of the copy and apply adjustments. In 3.7 you could set up a default of what items would be copied and applied. If you don't want to routinely apply a rotation with every copy and apply, you leave it unchecked in your preferences and it doesn't get applied. Having to deselect items every time you copy and apply slows down the workflow.

I've requested that within a feature request with PO, but you know how requests seem to be treated. When it comes to copying and applying adjustments, 3.7 was perfect. It was simple, easy and quick. I understood it from the very beginning and it was the single thing that drew me to C1. 4.0 is confusing, awkward, and slow, at least compared to 3.7. After about a month of using it, I believe I understand 4.0 better now than I did even two weeks ago; but my assessment of it is still the same. And it should say something about how it is set up that it confused me for so long.

Just started out, and I'm very confused to! I must say that the 3.7 approach was much more handy and logical!

For me it seems that if I want to copy only adjustments under a specific tool (not all adjustments), I have to click "Copy Adjustments", then in the "Adjustments Clipboard" choose "Deselect All", and then check the desired tool and "Apply".

Have you found out any quicker way, please enligten me!

You pretty much have it right. I think the idea is to only deselect items that you do not want applied rather than deselecting all and then rechecking off what you want to keep. Bottom line is that it can be more cumbersome than 3.7, depending on what adjustments you make to the master image. Hopefully we'll see a default setting option in a future rendition of 4.0.

    Ok, thanks.

I often work with one tool at a time, for instance the white balance. Therefore in my case rather then deselecting the other six tools I choose the "Deselect All" option in my example and then check the desired tool only.

Trying to minimze the number of mouse clicks. But still, there are far too many of them in order to carry out such basic routines. :/

Thanks again for contribution! Sadly I don't have big hopes in this being fixed in future releases.

My understanding of the copy and apply adjustments is that when you click on copy, only the adjustments that you made get copied. If all you did was adjust exposure, then that would be all that gets copied and applied. It's all confusing though with 4.0 in terms of what is checked in the adjustments panel, and I believe there were some bugs in it that made it that much more confusing.

Bottom line is that I believe it should behave so that only the tools that you adjusted get copied and applied. If it's not doing that you might contact Phase One for further instruction. I requested several months ago that they do a video tutorial on the copy and apply adjustments because what is in the manual is inadequate and because it confused me (and still does), even though I have used C1 Pro for 3 years.
