I've been working with D2H files & Capture One (3.7.1) and saw no real issue. Not having a D2X to test I can't say if the situation is different from the D2H. I am a Canon shooter but I helped Nikon shooters to process their files and all I can say is that (Capture One + Canon) vs (Capture One + Nikon) workflow is identical.

I am a very satisfied user with D2H and D2X

works fine, but there is one huge drawback: no tethered shooting possible due to Nikons restrictive software/camera firmware policy... lets hope that will change soonest!

    cheers Nicolas

PS: I do prefer working with the D2x so much more than the MarkII

The only issues using Nikon's newer cameras has been with the White Balance capabilities. The in-camera Custom WB data is not read by Capture One and with the other WB presets, Capture One emulates a WB. See the Knowledge Base article:
    http://support.phaseone.com/KB/Home/Sea ... nguageID=1

Nikon has now made their encrypted files available, but when this can be implemented into the next release of Capture One is not known at this time. See the statements from our Product Manager from the User Forum at: http://forum.phaseone.com/viewtopic.php?t=1252

Let me assure you there are many many Users with a D2x that are having no problems with their workflow. This situation simply means you cannot use the camera's custom White Balance because the data is not readable. With the ability to capture a Macbeth or true grey card as first image of a shoot or to select a neutral area within an image, and then to apply this setting to all other images capture under the same lighting conditions is just way too easy. And for that matter, as accurate or better than the in-camera WB capabilities.

    See the Tips & Tricks article: http://www.phaseone.com/Content/Softwar ... lance.aspx

If you have the most recent Nikon Capture 4 software, you can tether using this software and have files written into a Session Folder of Capture One.

    Sincerely,
    kc

I'm using a Nikon D2X, and fairly happy with my results with CO. I am annoyed that I can't shoot tethered, and am eagerly awaiting the next update that will read the white balance info.

Along with a lot of other folks out there, I wish the thumbnails would load faster, and that some one could figure out what is causing the slowdown, the processor, the system software or CO?

    I'm using
    CO 3.7.1
    Mac OS 10.3.9
    G4- 933mhz single processor.

.....same here: I'm a new D2X user, I love the camera, like working with C1 Pro, but I'm eagerly awaiting the white balance issue being fixed.

Does anybody of Phase One have an idea, when the next version of C1 Pro (which hopefully fixes the WB issue) will be relased?

    Tks,

PS: the workaround with the Nikon Capter4 sw is a drag...

You should go to Nikon and say \"Pleeeeeease change your SDK licens so Phase One can implement tethered support\" 😂
Canon can have a open licens policy so why can not Nikon?

    Yeah, you are right!!!

Maybe we all (Nikon D2x users) should unite and write a petition and maybe if there are hundreds (?) from around the world they would change their policy... It cannot be a "Japanese" behaviour thing since Canon is Japanese too... but on the other hand Sony is as restrictive.. oh well 🙄

I just got a D2X and Capture One yesterday. You CAN shoot tethered, though it is a bit convoluted. Nikon Capture Control needs to be open, and CO and Capture Control need to share the same capture folder. As soon as the image loads in CC, switch to CO, and you have a raw file. Not the most elegant solution.

Yes that is correct and that is what we explain in following knowledge base article:

    Thank you Phase One 😊
Just waiting for the tethered issue solved now.
Somebody should send email to Nikon, anyone knows the address?

    Hi UlfLiljegren,

I have spoken to Nikon (www.europe-nikon.com/uk) and they have told me that their SDK is freely available to anyone who fills in the form on their website (http://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com/cgi- ... 1035555540).

So I do not understand why C1 is so lagging behind with Nikon support as it is with Canon for tethered mode - Nikon assure me that it is not anything that they have done.

    Thanks,

    G

Licens has change from Nikons side.
'I do not know what current status is but previous we could not use SDK due to licens agreement issues, which affected both Phase One and Adobe. I believe this has been solved hence white balance support for newer Nikons in Capture One 3.7.3.
Only thing I can suggest right now is to put it in as a feature request through the provide feedback function in the software.
