Media Pro 1 Licensing Questions

From the Media Pro FAQ page:

    Media Pro license policy

Media Pro offers a cross-platform license code, which means that Media Pro can be activated on both a Mac and a Windows computer with the same license code.

The Media Pro license policy is as follows: 1 License = 1 User Meaning that only one user can use the Media Pro license code to activate Media Pro.

In order to allow you to use Media Pro on multiple machines, if required by your workflow (such as the desktop and portable computer), every user is eligible to activate the software on up to two machines, therefore: 1 License = 1 User = 2 Computers Activated

Sorry, didn't see that item earlier.

If I install the software on both the Windows & Mac partitions of a dual-boot laptop, does that mean I've used my two activations?

Yes, at least I would suppose so (and you can try yourself and deactivate if necessary).

    Hello

I have just bought upgrade to Media pro 1 today.

I bought EM2 by Phase One previously.
I bought CaptureOne 5.x upgraded to 6.2 too.

Why has the activation process changed with Media Pro?

With CO or EM2, you can work internet offline. You activate
your licence code once and then it is ok, with or without
    internet connection.

With media Pro 1, if you are internet offline, even if you
entered the activation code on first run, Media Pro falls
back to 30 day evaluation mode with an error message
about a licence server. When back to internet, Media Pro
gets activated back immediatly without reentering activation
    code.

That's not consistent with all other PhaseOne software.

I do need to work offline for more than 30 days.
You need not judge that, it is either my choice, either
    contract conditions.

I'll open a support case as i can't work that way.

    Best regards,

The internet connection issue will be addressed shortly.
I don't know if it requires a software fix or a handling adjustment on our activation server, either way it will be addressed soon.

I activated on my laptop, but on my desktop MediaPro says: "Could not activate because the activation profile is incorrect."

.. I checked my "profile" which was created May 28 2010. It's the same as I entered into the activator. Why won't it let me install?

(also, is "create support case" now called "contact technical supposrt"? All the help screenshots have the former)

I am having the same type of activation process problem, except in revers. I can active desktop and not laptop. I had EM2 on both machines, the upgrade 'took' on the desktop, the laptop gives me the error message, 'Could not activate because the activation profile is incorrect.".....well of coarse I fill the dialogue box with same profile as desktop but I still get errors. I opened up tech support tix, so they can figure out what's going on......

I figured out if you pretend to a relevant camera equipment, you can fill out the Contact Support form -- just type in your MediaPro questions. In a few hours they responded by re-setting my software key and it now works on both my machines.

Has it been addressed yet? I'm anxious to know, since I haven't been able to use your outstanding application without an Internet connection since Windows 7 SP 1 was succeeded by SP 2. And kindly inform the people answering the phones in your USA office that paying for one license entitles one to one and only one free upgrade download. Which I couldn't use because the installer I did download would not launch (code out of sync errors or some such thing).

I think I discovered where the bug originates.

I've looked in both the Application folder and {user}/AppData/Roaming/Phase One Media Pro (and corresponding sub-folders) for a file that looked like it might contain my license code. No such file exists, insofar as my familiarity with the names of such files (after 5 years of Windows and twice that as a Mac user) goes. Is it possible that version 1.1.0.52546 did not or could not create one in Windows 7 X64? Or any Windows 7, for that matter?

And I've been back on the Internet for close to three weeks. Twenty minutes or so ago, I launched the version I had installed and got the "Trial Expired" error. It doesn't just happen if/when you lose your "upline connection," folks.
