    Hi Jeroen,

I suggest to create a support case and refer to your post or copy the post. This way Phase One can collect experiences from users, in case more users have similar issues, for resolution.

Created a support case this morning, got a reply within 30 minutes (great!). They gave me a lot of things to try to solve the problem with capture naming, but the only thing that helped was a clean install of C1pro as by http://www.phaseone.com/en/search/artic ... nguageid=1. Note that I followed this directive for BOTH 7.x AND for 8.x. Then restarted Mac and reinstalled C1pro.

Created an Applescript to test tethering, and C1 performed flawlessly for 300 shots. Here's the code for the Applescript:
    --
    tell application "Capture One"
    reopen
    activate
    end tell
    repeat 30 times
    repeat 10 times
    tell application "System Events"
    tell process "Capture One"
    set frontmost to true
    end tell
    keystroke "k" using command down
    end tell
    delay 2
    end repeat
    delay 10
    end repeat

i was experiencing similar problems yesterday. i was stupid enough to update capture one the night before a big shoot. 8.01 seems to be not useable for nikon d800/D800e tethering. only returning to 8.00 did the trick, doing several fresh installs (thoroughly executed as per phaseone instructions) on different user accounts did not help at all.

pretty bummed about all those bugs. and yes dear phaseone, a ticket a ticket, i know! that wouldn't have helped me yesterday when i was on a location shoot looking pretty puzzled in front of my clients. we're using expensive macs with expensive software so we _don't_ experience these problems because someone tested the software before rolling it out to the customers. i don't want to be forced to have to test each new version of software or do fresh installs to be sure it works, that is sooo microsoft 15 years ago.

We do test extensively with (among many others) d800e for each release, and we did not find any issues in that regard. Can there still be unwanted behavior on some computers? Sure! There are plenty of factors out there, that we cannot control.

If we do not experience the problem here, but a few customers do, the best way for the problem to be fixed is to get in touch with us.

I've downloaded 8.01 and did a fresh install. Hooked up my D810 tethered to a brand new MBP Retina 15" with 16g Ram via a TetherTool USB 3 cable. Worked fine or a while but then I put down the camera for about 15 minutes to check my email. When I returned I fired off a few shots and they did not import into Capture One. In fact, what's concerning is that they didn't write to the card either. Not sure where they are but I'll try to recreate the problem and search for the files. I closed out Capture One and powered off the camera, started up both again and they worked fine. Hope this gets rectified asap. Really excited about using Capture One as I just jumped from LR.

A card in the camera is not required for Capture One and is only going to get in the way. As we don't use it take it out... its only going to add another layer of problems.

I've also been having serious issues with tethering since buying the update! I am also using a D800 and a MBP Retina 2012, I had connection problems with the d800 about 6 months ago which was fixed by using an external usb 2.0 hub, slower but it worked. Only desktop computers manage to find the D800 without it.
That aside for the first time ever I just don't trust C1 anymore, I had 5 mins to shoot someone during a break in a tv ad shoot on friday, I had shot 22 frames and I clicked back a couple to check the light......Crash!

Reopen.....all the frames are gone except the first blank test shot.... now I'm worried!
Then I carry on shooting, at a glance I can see the lost files re appearing, relief.

On going back to the catalog after the shoot, it looks like the lost files re appeared as the previews for the new shots I was taking. So it looks like the lost files are there, but when you click on one, one of the new shots I had taken appears in place of the lost file.

I then make a copy of the catalog, starting to get concerned again now. Open the copy of that catalog and regenerate previews and as expected the lost files are really lost. Up until now it's crashed loads, but never lost a frame. Now I cant trust it.

If phase one want the original catalog before regenerating the preview I can send it, or if anyone thinks there is a way to recover the files then I would really appreciate it!

As I can still see the original files in the previews is the at least a way that I can recover jpgs from the previews?

Both catalogs are the same size.

Edit, Just checked and I'm using version 8.0, should I update to 8.1 or will things get worse?

    Thanks
