How do I stop COP from booting up?

Very impressed with Capture One Pro so far but how do I stop it from booting up every time I plug in an external device for other purposes than importing images? 'Open Importer when mounting removable media' is unchecked in Preferences.
Any help would be appreciated.

  You have to disable this with the OSX Image Capture app. This is beyond CO control.
