Canon 5D + Shooting tehtered?!?!?
Hello everyone,
I've been searching for hours and cannot find a solution. I've seen many posts similar to what I'm experiencing, but none of the ones I saw had a solution and if it did, it made no sense to me.
I have a big commercial shoot on Sunday (my first) and I really want to shoot tethered so the client can view/edit the photos. I'm shooting with a 5D and running Windows 7 (64-bit) along with Capture One Pro 6.3.2 64-bit
When my camera is connected and I started C1 and turn it on I get this window...

Is there really no way to do this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

So now I've found that it's because of 64-bit Windows and there are no drivers from Canon??.... Sigh. 0 -
I call this a setup where technologies went out-of-sync. Not only is Win 64-bit not compatible with the Canon 5D for tethering, CO Pro 6 (64-bit) is not as well for the same reason. Fortunately there is a way out: virtualization.
Make sure you have a Professional or Enterprise version of Windows 7. Download and install XP Mode from Microsoft (it is free!). This is a 32-bit XP Pro machine which runs on top of Win7, independent and separate. This is also known as a virtual machine (VM).
Because the USB port on the physical machine is virtualized in the XP VM you can tether to that machine with your 5D. You can run CO 5 Pro on the VM, for best tethering compatibility with your 5D (activate CO 5 with your CO 6 key).
After the shoot, move your images from the XP to the Win7 machine (there is an internal connection between the two) and process the images with CO 6 (64-bit advantage and newer tools).0
