C1-6 help requested

I have opened a support case for this, but hope that someone can help me
with my problem. I recently formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Win XP.
It has all the updates, including SP3, plus .NET framework 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5.

So far, I am only able to run v5.0.2 successfully. If I try to run v5.1, or higher,
the welcome/splash screen comes on for a few seconds and then disappears.
The program fails to launch or initialize.I've also tried running C1-6,but have the
same problem. I have had no problems with any of my software that I've reloaded,
since the reinstall of XP, which includes Photoshop, DPP, and two other raw
converters.

I am at a loss as to what's happening. Since I was able to run 5.1 and higher
versions before formatting, I have to assume there are issues with C1 and
the new install. Just wish I were a little more tech savvy.

All comments and/or suggestions appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe there were/are some issues with the dot.net framework (v3.5?) that may cause this.
Do a quick search on this site for 'dot.net' and it does come up with some possibilities. (Service pack 1 required maybe?)

Hopefully someone much more knowledgeable than me can confirm this...?

OK, gang. I'm up and running with C1-6 and it's looking
mighty good. Found out I didn't have 3.5 SP1. I deleted
3.5 and reinstalled with the update and my problems
are now solved. Works like a champ.
