color management difference between c1 and cs3

I have the following scenario:

I output a TIF file from C1 using an ICC profile corresponding to printer/paper I am using. C1 displays the picture as it would be using that profile. All is good.

I then open same TIF file in CS3 with preserved color profiles. Color profile obviously has effect but the pictures seems more juicy, and with deeper blacks than in C1. I would have expected it to look exactly the same as in C1.

I now go into the Proof Setup in CS3 and choose the same ICC profile, but I also add the options to 'Simulate Black Ink'

When I now turn on the proof view in CS3, I get the same colors as in C1, as expected.

so the question: does the color management in C1 do the 'Simulate Black Ink' by default, while CS3 only does if you explicitly request it in proofing, or am I doing something wrong?

(Monitor is calibrated, working space is sRGB)

  I am seeing similar problems, very frustrating. I am suprised no one fron Phase One has offered an answer.
