Can't launch Capture One 7
I recently upgraded to OSX 10.9, and was having issues with Capture One 6 Express. I contacted Phase One, and they basically said the solution is to purchase Capture One 7, as they don't support 6 on Mavericks. (as an aside, this is quite a disappointment, but I digress)
I downloaded Capture one 7. When I launch I get a dialogue that says "switching from Capture One Express to Capture One Pro requires the application to be relaunched." with a dialogue allowing me to click "cancel" or "relaunch." When I click "relaunch" the application quits without relaunching. I can launch it again, and am stuck in this loop.
I've contacted support, and their response amounted to "do a clean uninstall of all versions of Capture one. They provided a link with instruction on how to do so. I followed them carefully. Twice. Still the same issue. I tried using App Zapper without luck. I tried creating a new user on the computer. That didn't work either.
Any thoughts on what the next troubleshooting step might be? I have a gig coming up that I'd love to be able to shoot tethered for....

Sorry for the trouble.
It doesn't sound like a reinstallation fix is in order, the software seems to be suffering from a lack of access to your System and User Library. A Disk Utility Permissions repair might fix it.
The quick "fix" though is to just rename the App. This disassociates it from the cached information your system isn't allowing Capture One to overwrite. Naming the Capture One app from "Capture One" to something like "Capture One 7" will get you going on a clean slate.0 -
Yes that fixed it! Thanks for the help Drew. 0
