Tethering Nikon D300

Hi

I can't get my D300 to show up on Capture one 7 ??????? any ideas, works ok with my D5100 but crashes all the time if I use the live view option!!.
Using Macbook pro running OSX 10.7.5

I've also updated the D300 firmware to the latest version.

    Bummer I know, I have one too.

    *edit: The D5100 also technically isn't supported either, it must just have preliminary support which would explain the crashing.

    A big MAYBE as I have no first hand knowledge of this camera but it's possible the same type of workaround listed below will work for this.

    You would just need to pull the bundle from Nikon software... maybe : 😁

    Strange, i've been tethering my D300 just the other night on my MBP. I'm running 10.8.2 though.

    CO7 recognizes my camera without problem. Also using short USB cable.

    I was sure the D300 was supported in the last version of C1 ?? the D300 isn't that old!
    The only reason for me to upgrade from C1 DB to pro was the option to tether the D300 ☹️ not impressed!

    Looking into this further...
    The D300 should work because it uses the same Nikon connection as the D700. The Nikon software would have no way of telling (sort of) if the camera connected is a D300 or a D700.
    As we have the D700 in house I can test and verify that it works without a hitch. I think it be best if you troublshot this issue with tech support so we can look into the issue a bit closer.

    Did you find any solution to this? I have the exact same problem. The D300 is now supposably fully supported with C1 7.1.4 but I can't get it to recognise the camera.
