Assuming you have a Leaf or Mamiya back, you could consider posting here (as well):
    viewforum.php?f=31
I belief this forum is actively monitored by Phase One/Leaf staff.

    Hi Paul:

    thanks, I will.

However my problem is with Capture One. Unless I am totally wrong - I believe this is a software problem. The same rendering error happens with Nikon raw files as well. I actually didn't have this ever before with previous versions.

OK, Nikon files same issue. I was initially suspecting a Leaf back/.mos compression issue. A few ideas while I assume you are on CO 6.0.1:
    - create a new session in case you normally don't work with sessions
    - refresh the preference file
    - review your monitor profile; select the factory default temporarily (have you calibrated your monitor recently?)

Paul, I tried your suggestions. I really appreciate you taking the time.

    It still doesn't render.

Does anyone else have this issue? What to do?

    Thank you!

    Random idea:
Check the permissions on the folder that C1 writes its data to.

You can do it from within Capture One or from the Finder, Get Info command on the folder. In CO6, go to Library tool, click on the Info button below if not already open and read the permissions. Should be readable & writable.

OK, cool thank you. Yes, it's read and write.
I only noticed now the option to check 32-bit mode - should i do that?

    thanks,

It does not hurt to try.

    Hi Guys:

just FYI - in case you are following...

My issue was addressed via the following responses, experts of which I am posting here for your information:

    Dear Maryana,
we would need the complete logs as described in Knowledge Base article #1624 to be able to fully understand what is happening on your machine.
    http://www.phaseone.com/en/search/artic ... nguageid=1
Also have you tried uninstalling Capture One 6 completely (not just the application but all files_ and then installing it again?
    http://www.phaseone.com/en/search/artic ... nguageid=1
Finally could you please make sure you have copied the files from a CF card and that they are in a writeable location (read and write permissions for the parent folder) and that there is sufficient space on the disk to create previews?

At this point I provided them with crash logs, screenshots, all the info they asked. and reinstalled the C1 according to the article.

    here is the next one:
We do not have enough information in the logs uploaded with this case to determine the exact cause.
Please make sure you submit those reports from within the application using your e-mail address.
Also we would be interested to know if the complete uninstall seemed to help the issue somehow.

at this point i reinstalled C1 again, and thought that it worked, actually it did for a minute or two. I restarted my computer and the problem went back on. It crashes, cannot read raw files. I sent reports to C1 w/my email, received confirmations, provided C1 tech support again w/screenshots.

    This was the last response:
so initially it 3was working fine and then it stopped?
Can you recall if you changed something in Capture One preferences or in output profiles, recipes etc.?
Thank you very much for contacting us.

    No, I didn't change anything.
It's been almost week, I sent 6 more requests crying for help and no response. I thank Paul and others for trying to help me, although it didn't work I really appreciate your willingness to help me resolve this.

Hope for the best, but I am ready to say Goodbye! 😊 Anyone know return policy? 🤓

    Maryana,
Sorry for your frustration. The case has been in the hands of the Test department and they've been going over the details, hence the lack of response for your last submissions.
We should have some more details for you later today.

Please note, this has not been resolved yet, at all. It's so unprofessional, given the fact that people who are using your software are also users of your cameras and lenses. I think C1 should re-think their support system. big time.

    Maryanah,
Again, I can understand your frustration and do apologize. Your specific issue is quite unique and there are many of our recourses at Phase One that are looking into it, due to the peculiar nature it is no simple fix. I apologize for the speed at which it is being addressed but it is being addressed properly.

I have the same problem. The work indicator just start spinning and does so forever. C1 is at the same time eating all memory available, within a minute or so it is all filled up.

Drew, I'd like to get credit please.

It's a simple request and a resonable one given the circumstances. Won't you agree?

No hard feelings. it's just not working out for me and there is no solution available at this time. It's been since Jan 19. I tried all the options.

I emailed and asked for this already. Please help!

January 28 was the last time I heard from the support system. I see a lot of people are having problems with C1 crashing.
So as much as my situation is unique, it's not really unique. I submitted all the crash reports possible.

I'm having similar problems, intermittent crashes and C1 freezing every 15-45 minutes. I love the new features but I'm ready to go back to 5 while 6 gets fixed.

    What are your machine specifications?

I have experienced that generating proxies is faster if setting their resolution down to 600px (Preferences>Image).
How many images are in your browser, and does your selected Recipe contain text watermark or do you have any overlay selected? Overlays require thumbnails in the browser to be updated and I have experienced that can also be a memory-eating activity..

I am having a similar issue of not generating a preview. I see an image, but not very clear but at least not a blank screen or a notice or warning saying: "unable..."
I was using 5 and just updated straight to 6.1.1. I have created a new session (I'm surprised it is a col50 file) and I have copied files to appropriate folders. I am using CaptureOne as I have always done. All of a sudden once I made a single adjustment the preview goes pixelated and the twirly dial doesn't stop. Interestingly I can still make adjustments, but to the pixelated preview only. The thumbnail also corrects to the adjustment.
I have processed one file to jpg for a sample to see whether the problem is only with the preview not working. YEP, I just looked at the jpg and it processed the file fine, with all of the adjustments that I made, even thought I couldn't clearly see what I was doing (sans exposure...)

In other forum posts, people mention re-installing from a clean slate, I will try this solution shortly. I would like to know first whether any of my settings would can be saved somehow (workspace configuration...) If it doesn't work, I am forced to re-install the older version until I hear of repairs to this problem. I'm not leaving CaptureOne like other wimps are crying about, v5 worked fine for me.

I'm surprised it hasn't crashed, in some ways I'd be more inclined to un-install and re-install.

I don't know why listing my hardware and OS matters. If 5.x worked fine, a newer one should too!
    MacPro with 10G ram, octo-core, osX 10.5, CaptureOne 6.1.1

When upgrading from 5.x to 6 I would strongly advise to clear the preference files, default session file and supporting files like workspaces, process recipes and batch. Yes, it should not be necessary according to the books, but I solved a lot of problems with it and prevented others. Makes its worth the effort.
Note that presets in CO6 have a different format due to enhancing the feature, hence CO5 presets are not displayed. Fortunately they can be imported.
Regarding session files (*.col50), CO6 has not changed the format, and is compatible with it. This is surprising since the session now supports a new feature of Smart Albums.

so my case is closed now. Just wanted to keep everyone updated. I will hopefully get my refund.

C1 folks apologized for the fact that no resolution was found.

"... our R&D team has analyzed the crash reprots further and so far they cannot match this behavior to any known issue and therefore they will need to pursue it further.
If you would like to assist us with this in future we would really appreciate if you could try downloading the next version of Capture One (most likely called 6.2) when it will be released and try running it again.
Even if it would fail we would see more data to help us understand the nature of the crash as we will be expanding on the data we collect during crash so we can fix issue such as the one you have encountered."

It's unfortunate that it took so long, I am going back to C1-pro-5 at this point.
I however hope that Phase One will get more local support system, at least for major cities... so it's not only via email.

    That's it for now.

(P.S. if you want to try to completely unistall C1 - this is the link I was given by tech support http://www.phaseone.com/en/search/artic ... nguageid=1)

I have had the same problem on both my laptop and stationary computer.

C1 doesent render a preview nor a thumbnail. In some sessions the preview started working if i rotated the pictures back and forth(weird). In other sessions nothing seems to help.

I am having all the same issues. I have done everything from the basic disc utility to uninstalling and reinstalling. Upgrading software across the board. I am now 4 jobs deep that have not been posted. No one answers the phone even at phase One.
I have sent various online requests... NOTHING -- CRICKETS

Both my Phase One back and my Canon won't work.
In addition... I can't shoot to capture one with my Canon either.

SO CRAZY.. GET THIS FIXED GUYS! For 25k purchase you should offer better support.

Hi, from your post I derive you have two issues.
    1. No preview generation with CO6
    2. No proper support

Re. 1 Since this thread is a year old and few similar reports surface, I suggest you open a new thread and provide details about your setup if you like to discuss it with other users here in this user-to-user forum.

Re. 2 Have you contacted your dealer and/or have you opened a support case with Phase One? That would be my preferred course of action.

I wonder if Maryanna tried recreating her problem on a different computer?

For me, the style files (.cos) have become corrupt in the past, and created similar sounding problems.
