Color selection in local adjustment not limited to mask
I have a photo with a snow covered mountain in which the shadows on the mountain are picking up too much of the cyan sky color. I want to color correct only the shadows on the mountain without effecting the sky.
In local adjustments tab, I draw a mask that encompasses only the mountain. Then in the color editor tool, Pick Color Correction on Selected Layer, turn off the mask, pick a sky colored shadow on the mountain, and the color range shows the sky/mountain shadow color. But when I check the View Selected Color Range box, it shows the sky -- which isn't masked -- as well as the mountain shadows. And any adjustments effect the sky as well as the mountain shadows.
Basically, it's acting just like the Color Editor tool on the Color tab; pick a color and it effects that color everywhere, not just the masked area. I've color corrected a masked area on other photos and it worked just as I expected. Can anyone tell me why this is not working with this one?
Thanks, Rob

After removing some, then all of my previous edits from this particular variant, I was getting the same results. Then I tried creating a new variant and tried it again without any other edits -- mask the mountain, select color, adjust -- I was getting the same results. I tried closing and restarting C1; same results.
So, I tried closing C1, shutting down the computer and rebooting, and now it works as it should. However, when I click View Selected Color Range it still shows all of the cyan color including the sky, not just the selected layer area. I'm not certain, but I believe that in previous versions of C1 it would previously only show the selected color within the layer mask; that is, only that color that would be effected.
I'd say this is a bug. I don't particularly want to have to shut down and reboot the computer every time this happens in order to get it to work. And shouldn't it just show me the effected area when I check View Selected Color Range?
Capture One software team, any comment?

I've had the same problem and will be curious to find out if it's a bug or if I'm (we're) doing something wrong? 0
