Layer copying issue when working with Affinity...

I have been trying out C1Pro (Fuji) for a while now, and have just purchased a license.
It has been quite a positive experience, but I am having one major issue that is affecting my workflow quite adversely:
If I start with a RAF file, add some layers to it and then edit the photo externally in Affinity (Edit with..) - then I am unable to copy any of the layers to the resulting TIFF file. I've tried many variations, but nothing appears to work. The background adjustments are copied fine, and the layers can be copied to other RAF files, but it just doesn't work from RAF to TIFF or the other way around.
I hope this can be fixed or clarified...
