    Hi Henrik!

Are you really sure?!? I mean - this is the very first time I ever heard "Clean my Mac" did anything good...
Finally I'd probably prefer a crashing C1 to having CMM on my disk!

Anyway - glad to hear it solved your problems!
The only way to solve the multiple problems C1 9.1 brought to me was to restore a backup with V. 9.0.3 - so let's hope for a speedy fix by PO!

    Hi Olyver
Your are right clean your mac is not the best thing in the world
i was just lazy coz i i could have gone in and removed the files manually
it is the Plist files that i think game me the issue

but yes PO need to get it up to some speed and fixes instead of adding new things to the app

There is an app in the app store called Find Any File.
If you want to find the plist (or any) files quickly, this is the app for it. Its $7.99
I've used it in the past to clean up old files and found it very effective.

Clean my mac is not recommended by us - we saw in builds prior to 9.1 (where we have now our own PTP for Canon) it would delete the 32bit files from the Canon SDK, rendering tethering inoperable and requiring re-installation of the application.

So it might be "easy" but it comes with some consequences. Just sayin... reader beware!

There are only two files you need concern yourself with to "clean install" Capture One:

Com.phaseone.captureone9.plist (controls the prefs for app)
Com.phaseone.captureone9.LSSharedFileList.plist (history of last and previous documents)

Both of which live in the (current) User > Library > Prefs folder. You can delete them, then restart the mac.

A lot of these instances of crashing and missing library sounds like a workspace issue which populates from the first plist.
If cleaning up the above helps, we'd love to get the .plist files over to support.

I'm using ONYX before every system-backup : it runs Apple maintenance scripts, cleans up the caches, rebuilds some sys databases, deleting log's etc.
It seems that CO1 runs smoother after, but the "recent open files" were gone ... Never had a problem since SnowLeopard with that utility and it's free !

why then are the clean install instructions so mind-numbingly complicated?

I should have said to the same effect as what Clean my mac would do.

Full clean install is not required in this scenario - you only want to change how Capture One starts and this is prefs related - the extensive uninstall instructions would be over kill and unnecessary.

Personally I would never run "clean my mac" on my machines, I've seen so many issues with peoples Mac's after they have used those sort of utilities. You don't need to spend $7.99 on an app to find files, its all built in to OSX already. Just learn a few commands in the terminal.

    NikPlayer$ find . -name com.phaseone.captureone9.plist
    ./Library/Preferences/com.phaseone.captureone9.plist

or use the wild card * to find all the files.

    NikPlayer$ find . -name com.phaseone.captureone9*
    ./Library/Application Support/com.apple.sharedfilelist/com.apple.LSSharedFileList.ApplicationRecentDocuments/com.phaseone.captureone9.sfl
    ./Library/Caches/com.phaseone.captureone9
    ./Library/Logs/com.phaseone.captureone9.log
    ./Library/Preferences/com.phaseone.captureone9.plist

As for 9.1 It really worries me that Phase didn’t pick up something so obviously wrong with the folder sorting during testing. I know testing is time consuming and expensive but thats a pretty basic function to test especially when you have just re-written that part of the code in the application.
