Nikon Tether Support Request
Phase one has made it apparent that if we want tethered camera support for Nikon we need to show them how bad we want it.
Anyone that would like Nikon support please respond to this post so they can see our numbers. I don't want to wait any longer.[u]

anymity,
Don't wait, go ahead and tether following Knowledge Base article #1919
http://www.phaseone.com/Content/Support ... nguageid=1
We know quite well how often this has been requested and how important this is to Nikon Shooters. It has been submitted as Feature Request.
However, implementation is not entirely up to Phase One.
Sincerely,

I was referring to direct tethering through capture one itself. I hate switching between nikon capture control and capture one. How do i set up a "watch folder"? 0 -
anymity,
File > Preferences > Miscellaneous Settings tab > check Enable Hotfolder
Nikon capture just needs to operate in background, should be no need to switch.
Cheers,

Hi... When I look in C1Pro under the specified menu (File > Preferences > Miscellaneous Settings tab),
Under FILE there is no such thing as Preferences... The Only Preferences I have is under Capture One Pro menu but in there I do not see Misc. Setting...
Maybe it's there in the Windows version but is it in the Mac one...
Do you know if it's something that could be addressed in v4?
Thank you0 -
Olivier,
This Preference setting is not in the Mac version.
For Mac, when indirectly tethering, you need to toggle between displays in order to refresh.
No knowledge if this feature will be in 4.0
Would expect it to be there since effort is to merge all Features and Functions.
Sincerely,
K C0 -
The lack of direct tethered support for Nikon cameras has always been one of the most glaring deficiencies in Capture One, as far as I am concerned. I most strongly add my vote to the others requesting this feature!!!!
Nikon has thoroughly irritated me with their WB stupidity, and their capture and raw conversion and viewing software has always been third rate. It is not paying an additional $70 for Nikon capture control software so I can use Capture One tethered that irritates me, it is paying it to Nikon that irritates me.
In a perfect world Nikon would stop messing around with software, spend their time bringing out a serious Dx3, and bundle Capture One in the box. Since that is not likely to happen, the next best thing would be for Phase One to stop treating Nikon shooters as second class citizens and fix the tethered issue.
I'm not happy with Phase One for treating my Nikon gear as an unworthy product, but their software works otherwise, so I will just vent my feelings here and say "Phase One, Please Get With the Program Already and Give Us the Tethered Piece!!0 -
chsfoto,
Just in case you missed this from above, here it is again:
... implementation is not entirely up to Phase One.
Be sure to let Nikon know your standpoint as well.

Keith, I'm not sure whether you mean that the feature is undocumented by Nikon, not provided in Nikon's SDK or whether Nikon is not willing to licence you their SDK.
Anyway, I think basic tethered shooting could be easily added, for USB cameras in Windows at least. Using PTP/WIA, you can get pictures downloaded top a folder.
The 15$ ToneupS3 just does that, as well as free sample WIA applications as well.0 -
One vote from me!
I'm a H25 user, but also use Nikon D2X.0 -
Yeah, I love my Nikon gear, but nikon belives it's speedlights are in competition with 400 w/s Qflashes. Go figure. I don't doubt for a minute that Nikon would make it hard for their cameras to work with Phase one tethered. I'm glad it works with Phase one and other software at all or I'ld be ebaying lots of cool stuff. Nikon wants to sell its own software. 0 -
Another vote for tethered support for Nikon. And I also hate toggling between Nikon Capture and C1! 0 -
Yes this feature would be great and lets hope Nikon works with Phase One on it.
While Nikon is a great camera and lens company their software side often disappoints me.0 -
Hi,
Bibble use the Nikon SDK to support tethered shooting. Only Nikon Capture Camera Control lets you adjust camera settings. At least Bibble doesn't require you to have the resource hungry Nikon Capture running in the background.
