    Hi there.

By default, Capture One does not automatically import metadata. I'm not a developer and couldn't tell you why this is the default behavior BUT the good news is you should be able to fix this by turning on metadata syncing.

Open Preferences -> Image Tab -> Set "Auto Sidecar Sync" to Full (reads & writes to sidecars) or Load (reads from sidecar files only).

Brian, Thanks but that did not do it. It started syncing and the window popped open saying it was syncing but no star rating.Any other ideas??? I really want to get the star rating to pull over. Thanks!!

Well Brian....This is weird. One folder brought over the star rating but I can not get the others to do it....

When fighting Aperture's metadata mess I seem to remember discovering that Apple does not include star ratings as they are not part of whichever XMP standard they were following. A search of Apple's website should confirm this. Meanwhile you may find that PhotoMechanic will read star ratings applied by Aperture (assuming you embed the data in the file). You can set PhotoMechanic to read the embedded Aperture metadata then write it to an XMP sidecar which C1 can read.

Long and complex, as I say, Aperture's metadata handling left a lot to be desired.

My star ratings imported just fine the other day, however, none of my adjustments besides crop did. All of these are advertised as being imported from Aperture (see import dialog box below). There must be some bugs.
