How To Maxout Performance of Capture One
Hi folks form a CO newbee to the Community.
I would gladly appreciate any sugestions to:
Improve the smoothness of my Capture One editing experience. Thnaks alot for your Input.
As a Wedding Photographer i am currently trying to to switch from Lightroom to CO 11.
Capture One already has impressed me in a lot of ways even speed is already, out of the Box faster than Lightroom.
But sometimes it still has waiting seconds e.g.:
1) Appling multiple adjustment layers to 30 Images or more
2) Fast brushstrokes with a Wacom tablet
3) Scrolling through multiple Styles presets.
The windows task manager usually states:
60% CPU usage,
<10% GPU but
100% Disk usage (Capure One Writes to the Disk NTFS Logfile all the time)
thanks a lot again.
Chris
My System
Capture One Ver. 11.0.0 (hardware acc on)
OS: Win 10 Pro
Processor: Intel I7 4770
GPU: AMD R9 280x (Radeon Driver Ver. 18.10. / OpenCL Ver. 24.20.11)
SSD: Crucial MX 300 525GB
RAM: 16GB

Are you using XMP sync / load maybe? 0 -
I greatly appreciate your Input. Maybe You can help me with that matter abit. Because I am a Newbie.
my current settings are:

I have another Bug that may have to to with the aforementioned.
When I close Capture One, it takes 20 Minutes to close. This happens every time I have a long edit session behind me. When I start Capture One and close It right away it closes Quick.
I found an Article about that Bug here:
https://blog.thomasfitzgeraldphotograph ... -solutions
Unfortunately I find no such thing as smart filter, but I have no smart folders turned on or filters activated.

P.S. during the 10Min closing process Capture One writes alot to the ssd alot of xxxxIMGxxx.cr2.cos files and to the NTFS logfile of the SSD.
Thanks again for your help

Hi Chris,
Check your settings:
Edit > Preferences > Image > Autosync Sidecar XMP.
Have you set it to "Full sync"?
Otherwise contact support, they're really helpful!0 -
Thanks again for your suggestions my settings in this regard are:

I believe windows only shows OGL GPU usage rather than OCL (try downloading Hardware Monitor)
Copying adjustments from 1 file to another, I find it instant.. 😕 What camera?
How big a brush you talking about?0 -
In Task manager you can select which feature of your GPU you'd like to monitor, this one's taken during export:

This one's taken during "Wacoming"...
(CPU was at 100% at that time)

Can't trust Task Manager with OPEN CL

Funny, the values are exactly the same:
CPU 100% (peaks)
GPU 51%
So what's the difference that makes you not to trust it?0 -

In the side bar on TaskManager showing GPU at 2% on my screenshot, and Hardware Monitor showing 56% (peak of 63%) and CPU isn't 100% anywhere on my screenshot..
On 2nd viewing, I see that you selected the GPU and the main is showing a different usage to the side bar0 -
You can select the other view by clicking on the arrow next to "Compute 1".

thanks all for your replys.
I didnt know that Taskmanager dose only show the Open Cl preformance when selecting compute 1.
In he Next Days I will try installing CO11 to my Notebook
(Intel Core i7-4710HQ; AMD Radeon R9 M265X,16384 MB ; SSD)
and See the Disk uasge there.0
