on Metadata Sync

I just noticed something interesting and useful. COP8 seems to perform Metadata syncing MUCH faster if there are no images displayed.

How I discovered this.......

My CaptureOne Pro is starting to be pretty heavily loaded. Two imports from Aperture have put 9362 images in my COP Catalog. (6400 yet to go).

Capture One Pro by itself, was pretty busy with syncing Metadata for 3500 images, and not moving very fast - I had selected "all images" and COP was busy syncing everything from the last import.

Then I turned off COP8, so I could start*** Aperture exporting a big folder (6300 images) to a new Library, and then I started COP8 again so that it could continue syncing Metadata - and now COP was very slow. My iMAc has a16GB of RAM, but the processor is an i5 from 2009, and CPU usage was pretty high, and the disk drive was pretty noisy.

Accidentally in COP I selected a group, so now the COP did not not have to show any images ... the images disappeared and the Metadata syncing started to go much faster.

Instead of promising to finish the Metadata Sync in 15 hours, COP is now promising to finish in an hour.

***Note - on my system, I cannot sart Aperture running if COP8 is running already - I have to start Aperture first, then COP8.
