Redline through Pencil issues - Capture 1 v8
Hi,
Like a lot of other people Im trying to find an alternative to Aperture, granted there is a steep learning curve, yes the tools are better but the database and import are no where near Aperture's slickness.
I have one major problem. Im getting these pencils with redlines appear through them and it's completely disabld my editing capabilities, Ive read it's to do with images being off line, but this is not the case for me. Ive tried everything including going into the library deleting all of of C1's files and reinstalling but still having the same issue. Ive started a new catalogues and still the issue persists. Any suggestions ?

The 'Redline through Pencil' symbol is not a program error, nor is it an offline state. It means you have not the right to edit the image.
This often is cause by the fact that you (accidentally) run a limited mode of program. The full mode is Pro, limited modes are DB, Pro (for Sony) and Express (for Sony).
You can easily check this: Capture One menu > About Capture One. You will find the necessary information just below the Capture One icon.0 -

Hi Rupert, I just wanted to say that I saw your post, as well as this one started by @NE100 and that I too have run into it...
Have you had any meaningful resolution to this from Phase One yet?
Kind regards,
Adam
Aperture user trialling Capture One
Adam, have already check the program mode as described in my post? By the way, for a response from Phase One support staff, please open a support case. The primary response here is from other users.0 -
Hi Paul,
Thanks for the heads up. I didn't quite understand the post when I originally read it, but last night all of my images were displaying as Read-Only, even ones that I had been editing earlier in the evening, so I came back to the forums and checked your reply and I found that I was running in DB mode. Unfortunately the images that were displaying as Read-Only for me last week (90% in a particular folder) still show as Read-Only even when running in Pro mode (20 days left in my trial).
I have created a support ticket however so hopefully I will get this fixed soon.
Thanks again,

Ok Adam, good you make some progress. I let support do the follow up. 0
