C1 4.1 to 4.5 upgrade instructions?

I apparently have botched the upgrade. I received a note telling me to go download the latest version - did so- installed it- and now it will not let me run anything. Removed it, reinstalled the old version- still no go.

4.5 is now back on asking for a license. I haven't attempted to work the laptop as if I can't process these images I can't meet my wedding deadline.

This activation business has got to be simpler than I'm making it- can I trouble someone to point out my error? I'd like to get back up and running.

(And yes, I've never used such a complicated process. I'd rather have a dongle- at least when you lose it it's your own fault...)

  Jason, interesting story but what is your question/problem? Are you not able to provide a license number? What kind of license do you have (CO 3.x LE, 3.x Pro, CO 4, CO 4 Pro)?

  My apologies for not being more explicit: The software will no longer allow me to run it.
  
  When I try to run it tells me 'no more activations left'- however I haven't 'activated' I've upgraded. Thus I'm stuck.
  
  Suggestions?
  
  (C1 according to the license screen)

  Login to the Phase One web site, go to License Management and deactivate your license key. You will receive the default activations for that key, that is 2 for the standard/LE license, 5 for Pro.

  Just to make sure I understand correctly, I will have to deactivate both licenses (one on my desktop, one on my laptop) from each computer- then- reinstall 4.5?
  
  I haven't turned the laptop on for fear of it not working anymore.
  
  Sorry for the timidity- Just not sure what's going on with the licensing of this software.
