7.0.2 still no usable catalog
So far in 7.0.2
My pen finally works in C1 with the latest Wacom Drivers (until now I have been using outdated drivers)
However
1. MP does not see C1 changes from sessions or catalogs
2. C1 still will not import MP catalogs - one of two things happens
a. it only imports a select few of the photos and thinks its done
b. starts to import but fails on "unsupported" files of which there are none
3. Creating catalogs from scratch still has the following problems
a. random crashes reading files that LR, DXO, and Media Pro have no problem with
b. if a successful import happens. none of the rating or tag information is maintained
4. If I manage to get all the files imported the following happens
a. Random crashing creating proxies
b. random crashing reloading metadata
So I am still without the vs7 features and a reasonable cataloging system.

Yes, 2-4 are some of the reasons I don't use the CO7 catalog. I also don't like the design philosophy; I want to keep my CO edit commands with the photos.
I have stuck with sessions and Media Pro. Actually, if I first rate the photos in MP, I can open only those I want in CO via MP, greatly speeding up the initial loading process of CO for shoots with a large number of photos.
And like you, I am still highly disappointed in the delay of a new MP that solves #1. It looks like we lost another week.0 -
I dont want to side track the topic - How do you open only the ones you want? seems MP has C1 open the entire folder that the images I want to edit are in. I am sure this is just an over sight (brain fart) on my part... 0 -
I start with both MP and CO open.
I have a session started, sometimes a new one, sometimes an older generic one (like 2013 Photos)
In Media Pro, I select the photo(s) I want to edit in CO, then right click (on a pc) on the selected photo and choose "open with", then Capture One.
A window pops up, Metadata Import, and I generally choose "overwrite".
Next, the "Catalog Sets Import" window pops open. I choose "yes" to the question, and the photo(s) open up under session albums in the "not in any catalog set".
You can rename this session album to whatever you want. If you repeat this, the next one lands in a new Capture set by date. You can drag that photo into another session album.
I tend to do this in small groups of photos, so CO doesn't generate previews for everything in the original photo folder.0
