Unable to apply user style to layer?

    It works for me.

Did you tick the parts of the adjustments you wanted to include in the style when you saved it?

If so, when you applied the style to a new layer (same image or a different image) did you make it a filled layer? If not you need to paint in the options.

    HTH.

That's strange, are you doing the exact same ?

Creating a style like this doesn't work:
1 - create layer and fill
2 - modify sharpen / clarity / noise on the layer
    3 - Create user style
    - - - I don't see the adjustments activated

Creating a style like this works:
    1 - create layer
    2 - select background
2 - modify sharpen / clarity / noise on the background layer
    3 - Create user style
    - - - I see the adjustments activated

    Both approaches work.

Do you see a popup screen using the first approach that asks you which changes you want to include in the style?

A selection is required at that point. Or at least it is with my system - the default is nothing selected.

If you select the style through the layer by navigating to the style you want and then hover the cursor over that style name it should indicate which tools are active in the style.

Also worth checking that the layer Opacity is not set to zero. An easy oversight.#

Try Creating a Filled layer rather than creating the layer and then filling - just to see is there is a difference for you.

I've tried with a filled layer and did the same thing, unfortunatly the mods are not added to the new style I try to create.
I'll try to create a screencapture later today so you can see exactly what I'm trying to do.

The popup has all options deselected when I use a layer.
If I use the background and do the exact same thing, there are several options checked.
The layer's opacity is set to 100.

I've tried on two systems, one is a clean install of 30 minutes old.

Thanks a lot for taking the time think along... Have a nice day 😊

Use the check boxes to select the options you want to include. Then save the Style.

I tried to be sure and the style saved like this style doesn't have any effect.

What's the use in checking them if they don't apply any modifications?

From this thread it is not clear to me whether the issue is that the created style does not contain adjustments, or that the style is not applied to a layer.

To check whether a style (that you created from adjustments on a layer) is working correct, apply that same style to the Background Layer.

To check whether you can apply a style (any style) to a layer, apply a style you check as mentioned or use a built-in style.

Please note that for both saving a style from layer as well as applying a style to layer you must use the Layer tool. Do not use the Styles and Presets tool as this tool only works with the Background Layer.

Hi Paul, thanks for jumping in!
Do you mean the three dots in the " Layers" tool?
There is a 'Save settings as style' option but that doesn't seem to work also because the pop-up has no active (used) adjustments. After saving and applying this style, no adjustments are made (as expected).

Am I overlooking some tool or menu somewhere???
