process recipes output destinations
I don't get it - why isn't the Output Location 'destination' part of the recipe? Changing it for one recipe changes all.
I typically use 2 recipes, one for a full-size file, another for a small one for Facebook, and I want the files put in different folders. But I can't do this without having to change the Destination back and forth... back and forth... every single time I produce output files.
Maybe I could accomplish this with 'sub folders' but my desired output folders aren't in the same tree, unless I set C:\ as Destination, then entire long complex output paths for Sub Folder. That just seems dumb.
I feel like I must be missing something.

To answer your starting question: it is.
You can put a global output path into 'Output' tab - 'Output Location' tool - 'Destination', then 'Choose Folder...'.
To use it, 'Output' tab - 'Process Recipe' tool - 'File' tab - 'Root Folder' must be set to 'Output Location', referring to the 'Output Location' tool.
But you can define a specific output folder per recipe in 'Output' tab - 'Process Recipe' tool - 'File' tab - 'Root Folder', by using 'Select Folder...' instead of 'Output Location'.

It is also possible to create subfolders with the repices name.
/output folder/facebook recipe
/output folder/superlarge originals
Just create two seperate recipes and select them both when exporting...0 -
I had to read those responses about 6 times before it made sense - but now I think I get it. Thanks. 0 -
I guess you've discorvered the possiblity to use tokens (recipe name) for the names of subfolders and files?
😊
Good luck!0 -
I am appending to this post for my question: what about changing the output name for each recipe?
I want to create different recipes with different output names, but every time I change something it does change all of them.
Anything I don't know or understand?
Thanks,

Never mind, I think I got it...using the subname should work I guess.
Trying now!
