Moving Referenced files (catalog user)

Hi,
My external drive failed and I am upgrading to a new thunderbolt RAID setup. I have 3TB of images in a folder structured beginning with:

\photolibraryreferenced\ (top level folder)
..... \2010 (one folder per year beneath top level)
..... \2011
.
.
..... \2016

Within each year folder, I have a folder for the month and within the month folder, I have folders for each shoot. My catalog is on a different drive (SSD) internally on my Mac.

I'm am going to restore my 3TB of images from backup onto my new RAID array and I want to know the best way for the catalog to "reconnect" with the images.

QUESTION:
1) if I name the new drive EXACTLY the same as the old drive, will my catalog not know the difference and just keep humming along like nothing has changed?

2) if the answer to 1) is "no", then what are the best steps to reconnect? I have 75k images, maybe more and I'm trying to avoid a "folder by folder" relocate task.

  Hi,
  
  Your catalog contains the previews. So, when you connect your new RAID, whatever you name it, and when you open Capture One, the software will attribute a question mark to all of your folders and files, as it doesn't know where they are. The best way then is to right click on the previous root of your folders (parent folder) and the contextual menu will show "Locate....". You just have to give Capture One the new path.

  I put in a temporary drive to keep my going while my RAID is in transit. I restored the files onto it and named the volume EXACTLY the same as before and C1 didn't know the difference. Works fine.
  
  When my main array arrives I will do it the way you suggested as I would like to rename the Volume anyway.
