Activation and licence if tethered?

Hello all:

C One v. 6 can be used tethered to a Phase One back p, P+ or IQ, without a product key or activations.

Does the upgrade to C One v7 mean I must pay for a new license or is it still possible to use without activation beyond the trial period?

  You can use the program as DB, a.k.a. Capture One DB. You do not have to pay for the license as it only handles Phase One and recent Leaf files, including tethering. See the program's release notes for more details.
