5.1.2 states that Expression Media can now use Capture One's default rendering to display images? Do I need to do something in either application to make this happen?

I think all you need to do is set the rendering in Expression Media (Edit-Preferences-Media Rendering) by toggling off the "use embedded" and setting "Windows imaging Component" as the preferred engine.

This works really well if you are cataloging Leica DNG camera files as the only embedded preview is the thumbnail (its not much fun rating teeny little thumbnail images). There are two downsides to this: if you have other RAW files in the catalog it is slower to render these files than just pulling up an embedded jpeg; and (the big one for me) the CaptureOne WIC for DNG does not read/write a lot of the DNG metadata, particularly the kind that you add in Expression Media or other programs. This may be just some oddball thing in my WIC setup, but for me it results in a one-step-forward-two-steps-back kind of upgrade. I've uninstalled 5.1.2 and reinstalled 5.1.1 but the CaptureOne WIC remains. I used to be able to read/write DNG metadata with no problems before I upgraded to 5.1.2. 🙄
