"Out of Memory" message

I hope this is a new topic. I get an "Out of Memory" message from 4.5.2. This is when using the Composition module. I'm told to restart the application which means I lose the work already done.

My Mac is right -up-date 10.5.5 and has 8 gigs of RAM. Can more memory be allocated to C1 (like Photoshop) and if so, how?

  Thanks for the suggestion, Paul, but I think this is different. I'm not shooting tethered - and the problem only occurs in the Composition module - at least so far.
