Why should I create a Session?
I am using C1 Pro 4.8.1. I have read the help file and also looked at the Phase One video tutorial and am still confused about Sessions. Why should I create sessions?
My current workflow with 4.8.1 as it was with 3.7.78 -
I open the Library and locate the client image folder that my Canon raw files are in and click the folder to bring the raw images into the C1 Pro browser. From there I delete various images, make adjustments, crop and output with my process recipe.
This workflow works great for me so can someone explain what the benefit of creating a session is?
Thanks! Have a super week.

Hi Bill,
That works for me too...
So if it´s not broken...why fix it ? 😄
Edit: No...seriously. I also haven´t quite figured out this whole session thing and it would be great to learn the benefits of it...0 -
Vesa;
Thanks for your reply - hopefully we will get some additional comments so we can both learn. Have a super week!0 -
Hi Vesa;
The following information is a reply from PhaseOne Support I thought might help you as it did me.
Session is a great concept when working in a studio, tethered to camera.
In this case you might set up a session, which has multiple shooting folders and process folders.
This way, a Session would be all the folders in a day’s shoot.
It can of course also be used if you are more a CF card on location guy for better organization.
If this is not your workflow, this might not be your cup of tea.
That way it might work well for you and there is certainly nothing wrong with it.
Kind Regards

Well, after reading the reply from PO this all makes some sense to me...
And it also made me more convinced that sessions is not a thing for me but a simple folder structure that I use: Year ---> month ---> day
Thank you for your efforts Bill and have a nice day,0
