Cambo Large Format Gain technique?

Hi group, I'm a DIT freelance, and I've got a client flying in who wants me to use something called gain to reduce colorshifts from his p45 when it is shifted for panoramic stitching. I've never heard of this and cannot find information about this on the forum or searching the web.

Can anyone point an article or principles about this technique?

  Not too sure but could it be dot gain, when printing cmyk ?

  From the description of the problem I would guess he means the LCC solution
