Help Needed with reactivation after PC Rebuild/Restore

I have had to rebuild my editing PC and restore from backup. At the same time I installed 4.8.3 but it does not come up activated as C1 Pro - I have tried to uninstall all versions, delete any residual files and do a completely fresh reinstall.

But it reinstalls as 4.8.3 but not Pro. It will not allow me to deactivate even though it apparently has the correct licence key but says it it licensed to xxxx@m-dash.com. It also says there are no remaining activations or upgrades - it should be 2 and 3 respectively.

When I check the licence management in my account (I deactivated all implementation) it says that licence key is registered to xxxx@solidus.co.uk (m-dash is a sub-brand of solidus that I use for my photography and writing). I have activation and version upgrades available.

How do I sort this out to have a single clean install of 4.8.3 Pro on my PC.

It is rather pressing as I have to get some photographs online for Monday.

If you do a planned replacement of hard disk or computer, deactivate CO4 (and programs like Photoshop CSx) before you backup the disk.

Thanks Paul I will have a look at those links. Unfortunatelyy it was not a planned upgrade - the motherboard failed and took the processor and the boot disk with it!

A combination of the tips in the linka you procvided seem to have resolved. I just have to see whether it will survice a reboot!
