Is Phase One understaffed?
Or has it just become impossible to get people to work in the E.U. these days. I am not in any way trying to be spiteful. I really mean the question point blank.
Capture One has had very simple irritating bugs since v2.0 that never seem to get addressed. Why is this? I really think most of use deserve an honest (adult) answer. I used get angry about this but now I am simply puzzled.
The most expensive consumer digital image application on the market and your staff becomes rude with customers when we ask such questions.

i agree with you, seems as though support gets a back seat with these guys 0 -
Hi Jorge
It may be hot where you live - but still I suggest that you cool it a bit 😊
I have been working with software since Amstrad (if any can remember that firm) in the mid-80s. I have not yet seen any piece of software that is flawless.
Not even Adobe with all their resources has yet succeeded in creating a perfect flawless version of the products. I won't mention Microsoft because people have become so used to bugs in Windows and associated applications.
Having said that you should bear in mind that as opposed to Adobe and Microsoft, PhaseOne produces software that is in constant evolutionto cater for the needs of photographers when camera manufactures of all brands release an ever-increasing stream of new cameras.
Without the size or resources of the above two companies, PhaseOne still manages to incorporate support for new cameras fairly quickly.
PhaseOne does in fact address bugs with immediate releases and I believe that you (we) should credit them for not releasing new versions before testing these thouroughly.
It is my understanding that with the release of version 4 for Windows, the core of the application has been rewritten from scratch to create a better platform for future updates. From what I have heard version 4 for Windows will offer many of the facilities and features currently enjoyed by mac users.
And for the bugs you mention without being specific what are these - I have been using Capture since version 3.1 and admittedly there have been bugs, but I have not seen any bugs survive that were in version 3.1.
I use Capture One on a daily basis for both capturing and processing. I rarely see any bugs and if problems occur they can most oftenly be attributed to the Windows operating system or insufficent computer power (running too many applications simultaneously).
Compared to my always updated CS2 suite which often freezes, is slow generating previews or opening images, Capture One is about the cleanest piece of software since MS-DOS.
Just to let you know that there are satisfied users - we always only hear the discontended.

Capture One has had very simple irritating bugs since v2.0 that never seem to get addressed. Why is this?
Hi Jorge, hi Michael
Here one example about this quote:
At Windows Version (all LE) i (and yours) CAN NOT develop .tif files WITHOUT EXIF information...
At \"preferences\" - > Process Settings - > and UNCHECK \"include capture....\" - \"include Meta data\"... ONLY WORKS FOR .JPGs
Same for quick proofs too. (all quick proofs have exif info, no way NO EXIF...)
I NEED TIFF FILES WITHOUT EXIF and i can have this files with C1LE (my C.O. version).
Very old bug... I have made some contacts (Technical feedbacks...) and some posts (maybe at old (MT) forum)... Why is nothing being done? It is like a \"simple\" bug. ❓
By the way i am one of satisfied users. 😉0 -
Hi Nando
I can't really say anything about LE-versions
I run on the Pro version
I just did a test converting the same file with Meta and Exif data checked and unchecked, respectively.
It worked fine - one Tiff file converted with meta and exif data and one Tiff file converted without meta and exif data.
Maybe this problem is routed elsewhere.
Just to show a parallel. I run PS CS2 on my studio machine. Whenever I open a Tiff file from my Developed folder and do some editing and then try to save it in the same Develop folder I get an error message. I always have to save it to another folder such as a folder named Processed.
When I do the same on my home computer, I can without problems open, edit and save a Tiff file to the same folder. Adobe has been trying to solve this issue for almost a year without having come up with any solution.
This shows that any piece of software can be influenced by a vast number of outside factors in your system setup.
As the risk of appearing to be PhaseOne devotee and blind to mistakes on their part, I will maintain that relatively C1 is one of the most bugless software solutions around. Too often apparent bugs complained off, such as slow processing times, are attributable to other factors such as slow harddisks, insufficient harddisk space, etc.
As I have opted for all Windows based system, I am looking forward to the revamped version 4 with all the features that the Mac'ees have enjoyed for long.

Thank you Michael.
Can you ask for a Phase One engineer make this same test at LE Windows Version?
I agree with your parallel but i did this conversion in a computer without adobe ps and without any other image software (that i know... 😊
Thank you very mutch!0 -
THANK YOU PHASE ONE FOR LISTEN ME AND.... Thank Michael. 😜
