Canon EOS 6D mk ii raw file support
Hi,
I just got a Canon EOS 6D mk ii, but when I try to import raw files from the memory card they do not show up, I'm guessing this is because there is something with the raw-file format.
Is there information somewhere what camera/raw-formats are supported and is there a timeframe for when the files will be supported?
Or if the reason is something else, what can i do about it? 😊
Thanks

Realised this was more of a support question perhaps, so opened a ticket. 0 -
The Canon 6D mk ii is not supported yet:

I have exaktly the same problem.
Phase One doesn't want to communicate when there will be an update for the new Canon EOS 6d mark II.
Unfortunately I switched from Lightroom to Capture One a month ago :/
Adobe still supports the new 6d with its latest update a few day after its release and did their homework fabulous.
ATM its a mess using Canons DPP to do a basic raw development and copy the files manually in C1 Sessions.
Hope that the will bring even a small release with extendet raw support soon ☹️0 -
Maybe On1 Photo RAW 2017 is an alternative?
They released an update with support for canon 6d mark II a couple of days ago.0 -
I am quite sure the camera will be supported in the future but PO team can't comment on the future releases. So ETA is unknown. Some cameras are lucky and got a support quickly, some cameras need to wait a bit more.
To support a camera, PO team requires that camera in house to the tests and develop a profile. I guess in Adobe's case it is rather different.0 -

I dont't think, that they need that camera in house 😉
When you register on Canons Developer Support, you have access on Canons EOS SDK that should also include a documentation about the raw formats.
Sorry - who else than PO could comment on future releases - but they don't want to.
This kind of communication is anything but a friendships for me as a customer. ☹️0 -
Yes, but Phase One's approach is to do their own testing of the camera rather than relying on the manufacturer's SDK. For better or for worse it has always been the way they work.

Yep, actually, and AFAIK, they make the input profile as anybody (or almost 😄 ) does, i.e. shooting a color patch under well defined light conditions, opening the image of the patch with a dedicated software and outputing the ICC profile. Which means that they need the camera body (with lenses to be supported) in house to do it. 0 -

I know by fact they need the camera in house. They have mentioned it quite few time on this forum.0 -
so some of the 6Dm2 owners could organise a get-together with PhaseOne for a day, lending their new cameras (and lenses) to PhaseOne to photograph the test images?
except that the developers are based in Denmark? 😁0 -
Remember that it's August, things tend to be a little bit slower in Europe at that time 😄. I would expect an update in early September with the 6DII and D7500 supported, for example. 0 -

That would be nice 😉0
