Possible to copy local adjustment layer to another image?
Is anyone aware of a way to copy a single local adjustment layer to another image in the catalogue? I'm able to copy an image's entire set of local adjustment layers to the adjustment clipboard, but I haven't found a way to copy just one of them.
Example use case: I have a series of images of the same model shot under the same lighting conditions. I've made an adjustment layer with a number of skin tone parameters set, and while the mask for each image will be different, the adjustments are mostly the same. Would love to be able to paste the skin tone layer over the entire series, and just repaint the masks for each image.
Anybody know a good way to do this?
Thanks!

You can, as you have identified, copy all of the layers.
So you could copy all of them and delete or deactivate the ones you don't want.
Or you could create a new variant of the image with the layer you want, delete the layers you don't want, and then copy that to the other images. However, from memory, I don't think you can do that if you already have layers in place without eliminating the other layers. That said I have not specifically checked that area of functionality for a while.
I fully understand why you are asking about this. I sometimes have the same need. But in may case - usually actions shots - I decided that the amount of work required to copy and re-position/re-edit was about the same as recreating from new in most cases. So I am happy enough, for the few times I do see a benefit from copying, to just take all the layers and deleted/de-activate as required.
I can certainly envisage many situations where a single layer copy would be useful - or maybe even something more graceful than that!

Here's a further thought - you may need to experiment here to see if it helps you.
the 9.2 release introduced a Batch “Create Masked Layer from Selection†feature.
How is it meant to work? Not totally sure but I guess the info can be found somewhere so I'll look.
Meantime .....
If you select multiple images, open the colour editor tool and go to, say, the Skin Tone adjustment you can pick your target colour (any colour, not just skin tones) then click on the three dots top right corner of the tool and choose "Create masked layer from selection".
A layer will be added to each variant you currently have selected provided the "Edit all selected variants" toggle is set appropriately.
Now pick on of your images and the newly created layer. Make the changes you wish to make. Copy those changes to the clipboard and apply to the next variant or to the rest of the selected variants.
Now, I only tried this with a single layer per variant and I have no idea how the layer is identified - presumably you have to complete all the activity you want in the "batch" before deselecting any variants it you want to continue to treat them as a single batch.
It occurred to me that the skin tone correction idea might be specifically useful to you for avoiding having to repaint some masks. Also, of course, that it might not be appropriate or useful at all!
Whether the Batch layer create can be used in other ways I am not sure. It seems likely that the nature of the functionality would really only apply to colour selection layers for now. I see no evidence of anything similar related to other tools.
HTH.

ETA: You can find a further description of the functionality (and the other new features) in this article.

Thanks Grant!
These are good thoughts. Yes, you're right that pasting a layer set over an existing image will replace all its layers. I like the Create Masked Layer from Selection idea - that's a useful way of using the feature. I can't try it out yet, as I'm one of the users getting hit by the 9.2 ICC profile loading bug, so I'm having to stay on 9.1 until they're able to drop a fix, but once I'm able to get to 9.2, I'll try this.

If the colour selection mask required is quite similar in several shots you may still be able to try out the concept.
The differences in the mask position may not matter or, if they do, can be easily adjusted. Maybe.
If the key is matching the selected colour and making a consistent adjustment across a number of images you can still do that with copy and paste - but you might need to tweak the mask.
