Targeted Color Balancing

I saw below Alex's post regarding matching RGB values to a color balance card such as X-Rite or Gretagmacbeth (same company now?), and I share his disappointment in not being able to match color values to a card in C1. Basically this means I have to process the entire image with the card included, then use Photoshop to color balance. Which basically makes C1 only good for capture and RAW processing in a studio. And I'd rather color balance the RAW image before I output it to TIFF.

Color balancing by eye, even if you've used a spider or something like Eye-One Match to color balance your monitor, is wonky, and you're only going to get truly "correct" colors if you work with numeric values.

I wonder if I can find a workaround by using the "skin tone" thingy.

I really like C1 and have been using it for several years now. For capture during a session it is way beyond anything else I've tried. But this color balance issue if a problem. If I'm missing something here someone please let me know.

    Thanks,
    CL
