How to relocate a catalog
I have a catalog on an external drive. It contains no managed images. The images are referenced in a separate folder on the same external drive. In the interests of speeding CO up a bit I would like to move the catalog on to my internal drive leaving the referenced images where they are. I tried importing the catalog but this process seemed to default to importing images as well as the catalog. I had no greater success with the export procedure. That moved the catalog but resulted in a error message about no database. Can anyone let me know the appropriate procedure to move the catalog leaving referenced images that stay where they are?

I am working with referenced catalogs, too. Images are stored on external USB drive.
To move a referenced catalog, I just move it with Finder. I also copy / paste new catalogs between my old and new MBP. Sync works fine to keep them aligned. No exporting / importing necessary.

Thanks Hans
I have moved the catalog using the Finder and all appears well. I appreciate being given confirmation that this procedure works. I didn't want to do anything that would damage the catalog and I had read somewhere that changes should be made only within in the CO Folders window but perhaps that only applies to relocation of images.
Kind regards Bruce0
