Simple Keyword Display/Export Filter
I have passed this on to PhaseOne Support as an improvement suggestion...

While it would be good to have both keyword export exclusion and synonyms in the key-wording functionality (as in LR), it is understandable that this might take some major programming effort. However, there is a way to implement the former function quite easily.
Essentially, it would be so good to be able to eliminate some keywords from both display and/or export. This allows one to have a hierarchical list of items using keywords that are more like 'category labels', that don't need to be exported. They would show up in the Keyword Library panel, but not be seen in the Keywords panel and not exported.
For instance, I might have in my hierarchy a keyword called 'Colour', and its children keywords are 'blue', 'red', 'yellow' etc. I would want the child keywords to be seen and exported, but not the label 'Colour'. Now, rather than have some sophisticated selection drop-down options for each keyword, why not just add something in either preferences or in the Keyword Library options, where one could specify a 'keyword filter' character variable that, when found within a keyword, that keyword would not be shown in the 'Keywords' panel and not exported. One could choose anything, a single character, or even group of characters (eg ~, *, ***, *Category*, Label:, etc).
So, for instance, if I set my keyword filter to '~', then I would create all my category labels that I didn't want exported to start with the '~' character. In the above example I would use the label '~ Colour', and this word would be shown in the hierarchical list in the Keywords Library and filter panels, but not be shown in the Keywords panel and not exported. However, the child keywords, red, blue etc, with no ~ symbol, would be exported.
As a programmer, I see this 'filter' would be so easy to implement. I really hope you can see some viability in this. It would make the whole keywording application ten times more useful than present, and I am sure many users would be happy with the extra option.

Can't you already have "category labels" as you call them? If I go to the metadata tab, and the Keyword library tool, I can for instance
* click on the ... button and choose "Create keyword library > New..."
* create a new library such as Macro. "Macro" then appears in my keyword library tool.
* with Macro selected, click the + to add keywords such as Flower, Insect, etc
* Now I can add a keyword such as Flower to an image - it adds the keyword "Flower" but it does not add "Macro"
