Blurred Blocks in Processed Images
Hello,
I work as a digital tech for a company that often receives images from outside techs and photographers.
A few of the processed tiffs that have been sent to us have displayed a strange phenomenon.
There are large blocks of blurred areas in the images that aren't present in the RAW files.
If we reprocess the images in our lab, the blurred areas are no longer there.
We have never seen this on images that we have processed in-house.
Here is an example image viewed at 100% (This has been vastly over-sharpened to clearly display the issue.)

Has anyone experienced this issue? Are there any solutions/explanations?
Thanks for your help,
Jared

Jared,
Create a support case and run a Memory Test on your RAM.
We'll need quite a bit of documentation about your system to get to the bottom of it but we have seen this on 'sick' systems. Reprocessing on the same machine will often clear it up too but, as you found, it is system specific.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply.
Unfortunately, the images were processed by an outside freelance tech, so we don't have access to that machine.
We will let him know about the potential issue with his system though.

Jared,
If you would, please have him create a support case with us.0
