What do I have to do when updating my computer?
Do I have to log out of Capture One or something? Deactivate like the adobe programs?
I've got capture one v8 on my old macbook pro. In a week I'm gonna order a new mbp. Want to put Capture One on the new computer. Move my catalog as well. What should I do so my transition is smooth, please?
Thanks for help.

You don't have to deactivate Lightroom.
You do have to Deactivate Capture One.0 -

If you are keeping the existing computer and have only used one of the available activations you probably us
need to install c1 on the new one and Activate it.
You can always manage activations on line by logging in to your account and updating things from there.
I'll leave a Mac and catalog person to advise on how to go about moving stuff over.
Using session on Windows I would just copy everything I need from one machine to the other providing no significant naming conventions changed for storage devices.

keith, sfa, thanks...didn't know I could deactivate on my account here. I'll check it out. 0 -
1- Deactivate the license from the "old" MB (Capture One/License/deactivate)
2- Copy the Catalog File to the location of your choice on the new Mac (can be also on an external HD)
3- Install CO on the new Mac and activate the License
4- Copy the content of your User Library/Application Support/ Capture One into the new Mac in order to transfer your Workspaces, Styles, Process Recipes.... The User Library is hidden by default but can be accessed from the Finder/Home by clicking alt+go.
5- Open the Catalog you have copied
5- If the referenced image files are kept in the original location (external HD ?) there is nothing else to do, otherwise you have to locate them and re-link to the catalog using the CO Library Tool Tab.0 -
thanks for all these details, Ario...much appreciated.
