Catalog/ Session mode when?
Hi,
is there a video or another Workflow tutorial that explains when to use better C1 in catalog mode alone and when C1 in session mode with Media Pro?
Cheers

Hmm, nobody any idea with "perfect" work flow?
My English is not the best but I try to describe my 2 variants.
Most of my photos are nature (animals). Then some people photos.
I import the RAW Files from my cameras always with my own AppleScript (mac) or PowerShell (Windows) to external drive if I'm on location. If I'm at home my script know that and is copying files from CD-Cards to my NAS
The script moves the files into specified directory structure Body/RAW/Year/Month/Day
Now I have 2 Macs - MacBook Pro and Mac Pro
I think
1. on location the best is to work with Sessions - one Session per Day (set Dayfolder as Sessionfolder)
2. then I can sort the photos , give them ratings stars and so on
3 At home I can import the Session into my Catalog and, then I can delete the sessions
or
1. on location the best is to work with Sessions - one Session per Day (set Dayfolder as Sessionfolder)
2. then I can sort the photos , give them ratings stars and so on
3 At home I can export the Sessions into Media Pro catalog. On Mac Pro I need to use only one "big" Session
The photos are often edited in CS6. I think why would the second variant better, but I'm not sure.
I do not know which version has more advantages and is more flexible. Maybe someone has a different idea.
