Just make sure it's in the PRO mode and try both USB ports on the Computer.
No switch, no tricks, just use the correct software mode.

Also, it's worth checking the Preferences to determine if you've turned OFF the Canon Provider by accident.

Checked all that stuff, and switched cables...but what/where is Pro Mode?

Capture One menu > About Capture One. You can either read Capture One Pro, Capture One DB or Capture One Express. DSLR tethering only works with Pro.

Open system profile and look under the USB information. You should see a number of entires for devices on the bus, among which should be a Canon camera. If you don't see it, then neither does the mac which suggests a hardware issue with the Mac Book Pro.

If you do see it then I suggest you get the logs to us in a case so we can investigate further.

Forgive my ignorance, but how do I find and send system log file? I did it once a few years ago, but don't remember.

Run the application "system information" from applications/utilities/

Click on the USB tab on the left under hardware.

With the camera connected and on you should see it somewhere in the device tree...

I was not clear. The camera does indeed turn up in the USB tab. It is the system log file that I need to find and send.

Upload the logs to us in a support case and we'll take a look.

Sorry to jump on a thread, but I am having an issue with my Eos 5D not tethering to the newest Capture One (7.2 I think). It shows that my camera is connected to the computer, but I can't get it to show in the program or shoot from my computer anymore.

Is it the first 5D? I believe it is not supported anymore for tethering (raw is no problem). Check the release notes.

It is the first 5D. Where can I find the release notes on this?
