Remove offline images from catalog and deleting images

I'm new to the program and maybe made a mistake.

Is there a way to bulk remove the offline thumbnails in my catalog? I deleted them from the hard drive directly and want to remove them from the COP9 library. I know I can remove the thumbnail from the album one file at a time, but is there a way to identify all the offline images and remove them in bulk?

Related, if I want to permanently delete an image from the COP9 library and my hard drive, is there a way to do that from within the program?

  there is no such thing like a global filter for offline images, as far as I know.
  the way could be:
  search folders in library tool for unreferenced files/folders, then tag them with color/keyword/stars,
  after that go to all images in collections, filter for the tagged files and delete.

  I think that if you synchronize the folder, CO will notice the files are gone and drop them from the catalog.

  Thank you Bob! You were right. Synchronizing removed all the pictures that were missing from the source folder.
