Olympus OM-D E-M1 support needs some work
It's great that the E-M1 is officially supported with C1 7.1.6 !
However, it looks like there is still some work needed. Images shot with ISO Low setting (~ ISO 100) are about 1 stop too bright, all others seem about 1/6 of a stop (~ 0.17) too dark.
The E-M1 does seem to have a slightly harder time separating reds than the E-M5 has (is it a different saturation curve in the reds maybe?). This has been pointed out in the Imaging Resource test (http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/o ... -e-m1A.HTM) and it shows in the results of all kinds of RAW converters (Olympus Viewer 3, Lightroom 5.3, C1 7.1.6 as well as JPEG straight out of the camera). I wonder if this can be improved somewhat?

P.S. Support case opened.

The Oly is a small niche market so highly unlikely to be at the top of the new years list. 0 -
While we're at it ... it would also be great if C1 would honor the camera's aspect ration settings (4:3, 2:3, 16:9, 1:1).

There is indeed a problem here. We have looged and will look into fixing it in a future release.
Thomas, the aspect ratio setting in the E-M1 only reflects on the jpegs, not the raw-files.0 -
"Charlotte" is where Thomas is from, Christian!

D'oh 😄 Guess that was a little close to New Years still 😉 Edited the previous post. 0 -
Thank you Keith for clarifying! No worries Christian. Charlotte is a cute name. 😄
Since crop/aspect ratio is a tag in the RAW file's metadata, C1 could read it and apply the respective crop. The good thing is that it's reversible.
If I set my camera to a different aspect ratio, I had a reason to do so and it would save quite some work not having to apply this crop manually in C1.
An example is shooting an OM-D alongside a DSLR where you might want everything in 3:2.
This is how Olympus Viewer 3 and also Lightroom do it.

Thomas, re. the aspect ratio issue I believe the proper addressee is Olympus.
They made a stupid design decision not to let the choice of aspect ratio be reflected in the image pixel count. It's done in cameras from other camera makers, so why not ask Olympus to fix it with a firmware update?
But you never know, PhaseOne may decide to play nice.
Cheers,
Mogens0
