Sharpening settings for Leica Q

There's no such thing as "best settings". It all depends on the specific picture you're adjusting, on the results you want to achieve, on your personal tastes... You simply need to find what suits your needs, that's all, Capture One is a non-destructive tool so you can always cancel what you've done and try again.

Thanks John, but I have to disagree, as a professional photographer I am dealing often with a large amount of images and I do have specific settings for my Nikon D810's which work just fine under any circumstances and applying them as defaults speeds up my workflow significantly and produces great results. I normally wouldn't have the time to apply an individual setting for each single image... I'm sure there is a combination of setting which works well for most scenarios shot with a Leica Q equally.

Fair enough, but in my defense you asked for the "best settings", not settings that simply "work well". 😊

Capture One is said to select automatically defect values for sharpness and noise reduction depending on the camera body and the ISO sensitivity. They are usually satisfactory, and I have used them for a while.
Even when noise reduction is set to zero, C1 applies some level of NR. And the defect NR value is set to some number which is always the same whatever the ISO is. This doesn't means that the level of NR is the same. A given set value will correspond to a higher NR for a high ISO than for a low ISO.

I've changed it into 'work well' John 😊 thank you very much for the heads up! I do find my personal sharpening setting for the D810's better than what C1 applies automatically and I do assume that there must be an equal solution for the Leica sharpening wise... (I'm also using personalised NR settings for the D810's for all ISO's up to 6400 which I think look slightly better than what C1 offers me automatically...) Best wishes
