Support of compressed raw files

I've made my skepticism of compression apparent in other threads, especially compressions that are not industry standard, so I don't want to keep kicking a dead horse here. However it's worth noting that any compression has the potential to "lose" data, which isn't worth any amount of space savings when it comes to RAW files.
If you were dead set on compressing files for Archive purposes you are welcome to use the EIP format which is essentially a ".ZIP" file (the current industry standard). As that is already present in the software it seems to be your best bet.

Windows NTFS compression of files and folders is an alternative as well.

Thanks. I gave EIP a try and it seems to just pack files without any compression. Btw I think you're right enough in regards of data safety, so leaving the file as they are is the best thing.

I'm relieved that you agree. With space being as inexpensive as it currently is I think the benefits don't outweigh the risks.
