Support of compressed raw files
There are open licence compression engines like 7zip and I wonder if an automated compression could be integrated in a program like C1.
Something like "compress folder", and all the raws converted in 7zip format when you just need to archive them, but keeping the thumbnails in order to browse. With 7zip some of my raws shrink from 35Mb to 13Mb. DNG files lose camera specific color profiles.

I've made my skepticism of compression apparent in other threads, especially compressions that are not industry standard, so I don't want to keep kicking a dead horse here. However it's worth noting that any compression has the potential to "lose" data, which isn't worth any amount of space savings when it comes to RAW files.
If you were dead set on compressing files for Archive purposes you are welcome to use the EIP format which is essentially a ".ZIP" file (the current industry standard). As that is already present in the software it seems to be your best bet.0 -

Thanks. I gave EIP a try and it seems to just pack files without any compression. Btw I think you're right enough in regards of data safety, so leaving the file as they are is the best thing. 0 -

I'm relieved that you agree. With space being as inexpensive as it currently is I think the benefits don't outweigh the risks.0
