C1 v5 won't read * ratings from Bridge or lightroom

C1 v4 does - not seeing what you have selected in Lightroom to process is not very clever. Is this a 'new improvement' 🙄 or a mistake?

  Not a Lightroom expert myself, I believe the ratings in LR are stored in the LR library, not in the image file. Capture One processes data & metadata from the image file. LR data is not transferred to CO or vice versa.

  Bridge stores rating in sidecar XMP files (most raw files except DNG) or sometimes in the file (TIFF, JPEG etc). No exchange with CO as far I am aware of.

  C1 v4 see's * ratings written in Bridge and I've been using this as part of my workflow for a long time now - v5 does not so it's a major problem as far as I'm concerned.

  Hate to say this but I doubt P1 will care. I used keyboard shortcuts for years in 3.x, they took it out of v4 and now 2years later they still don't have keyboard shortcuts implemented properly. They will tell you they are back but they really aren't. Phase One doesn't seem to listen most of the time.

  Something broken in v5. v4.8 normally read rating from Exif metadata, v5 - not. I'm use nikon nef.

  Any update on this? - I've abandoned V5 for now as it's impossible to incorporate it into my workflow. I'd like to know if it's just an oversight or a deliberate decision?
