Removing Sessions
How can I delete all the sessions listed in the Session pulldown in Capture One Pro 3.7.4? I know I can delete them one by one, but I have lots and want to remove them all in one shot. Are these all stored in a pref file somewhere?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hello
It is stored in the application preferences
¨/Library/Preferences/com.phaseone.*
With plist editor included with xCode this can be easily edited.
You can also simply delete the preference file but this will reset the entire application to \"out of the box\" .0 -
Hi Ulf, This is not ideal. Can we simply select multiple sessions and delete them in one hit? It must be a simple bit of code to implement.

Send it in as a feature request.
As person in technical support I can understand any reluctance to implementing a feature like this.
This is the same as doing a one button delete (today you have 3 steps to delete a file) it is just too easy to make mistakes.0 -
This is a feature I could really use as well. I understand the \"one button delete\" issue. Simply make the software ask twice if you intend to delete all the sessions.

I think that this feature should not be implemented.
1. If someone hit (by mistake/inadvertance) the delete all session (even if the actual files are not deleted it could be annoying.
2. I'm a Fashion Photographer Digital assistant (I dont touch light/fan... Only C1Pro) and I never have more than 5 sessions in the list. It's my responsability to have my C1Pro work environnement "clean". So on a daily basis I do a clean-up.
3. Even if you ask the user 2-3 time to confirm that they want to delete all session... Many people do not read warning messages... They just click away...
Having a Delete All button would be useless and a potential source of headache.
If Phase One spend time on implementing things like that it's precious time they are not using to fix real issues.

I currently have have a session list that is almost twice the size I can view on my monitor. Of those sessions, perhaps the bottom 10 are something that I'd like to hang on to until those jobs are closed. The current configuration means I have to scroll up past my active sessions, to get to those that I'd like to delete. If the list were editable, I could select the block that I'd like to delete en-masse and move along with my life. This configuration would involve more interaction than a simple delete all button, and relieve some of the fear of unintentional session deletion. Further, it would be more useful to those of us that create multiple sessions every day. 0 -
you can always select several ".session" files by doing a search and then load all sessions you need in just a single click. so if you make a mistake by removing all sessions in one click, you can load them back again also with one click.
so.... please implement this feature.[quote="Olivier" wrote:

I agree that the mass delete is a surprisingly absent and much needed feature. I look forward to seeing it in future C1Pro. In the meantime, could someone, Ulf perhaps, please explain the xCode solution in more detail. I am no programmer, so please assume I know nothing about code. Thanks. 😄 0 -
I have to say I don't agree with Oliver. If your that click happy then that sounds like a problem with your computing habits not a reason to leave a very useful feature out. In that line of thought the Finder should make you delete one file at a time. Doesn't sound very appealing to me. I think session management really needs some polishing. I believe it should be implemented as a "Edit List..." command in the session popup the spawns a window with a scrollable list of the sessions with a check box next to each so a user can select multiple sessions to delete. The window would probably need three buttons, "Delete Selected", "Delete All" and "Cancel". As with any good UI design it should verify after clicking either of the delete buttons to confirm the users intentions.

Additionally while in said window the user should be able to organize the list.0 -
I agree that this would be a great feature. Some of us shoot a lot of jobs and separate each client into a different folder at the end of the month you'll have 20 sessions on the list. Some clients also want separate session files for each shoot or for each setup and you might have 10-20 session files per day, that makes that 200-400 sessions a month.
Not fun to have to remove manually.
If some of the people working with Capture One don't know what they are doing than perhaps there should be an options to enable a password so only the photographer and tech can touch certain important settings.0 -
What are the advantages to using a session for each shot in the day? At present I pre-create shot folders (plugg my app) create a blank session and drag and drop the folders into the folder pane of C1. I set the first folder as the capture folder then when we move the second shot set that folder as the capture folder. This means I only have one session file per day. 0 -
The clients I work with often request that each set-up be totally separated, one session file a day won't for it for them. 0
