    B key for Burn

    E key for Erase

    G (usually) for Gradient.

Unless you have mapped the hot keys to something else.

Or use the options from the menu bar above the viewer.

If you have heavily personalised the the Workspace and Keyboard Shortcuts you may need to go and look at things in more depth than I have attempted to describe here.

    HTH.

Well many of the available radio dials/buttons are un responsive but more so on the ones on the bottom of the layers tab within exposure tools. all the tutorials click on buttons or tabs to activate the control. thats where my problems are. I even just moved my catalog to the internal ssd from an external ssd though the images still live on an external network drobo. I have had C1 through many of the upgrades throughout the years without this much trouble. I just am not to proficient in C1. Wondering if I need to remove it and 10 from the system and start again. everything seems sloooow or not responding.
    no mapped keys

I would guess that your installation has some problems.

I don't know anything much about Macs except that, based on reading in this forum, they do seem to be sensitive to getting the installation exactly right as per instructions - and for it to work as expected when you do.

I would try another installation, possibly with complete removal first.

That appears to be the usual recommendation.

Hopefully a Mac user will be along shortly to augment that advice.

    Andrew,

I have a similar problem with my MacBook Pro when I use the mouse. Sometimes, the drop down menus (and specifically draw mask/gradient) don't respond, but it works properly when I use the trackpad. Did you try it ?

I haven't really messed with my LT yet. All this has been on my DT and I don't have a track pad there. Does anyone know the best way to do a clean un install for mac?

there will be different opinions on this, but, I have use CleanMyMac for such things. the other trick is to find and delete plist entries. That is for MacOS. Seems to help many times for me. 😄

thx oldFalcon, but what do yo mean "plist" ?

fyi: The laptop is showing the same signs but a tad better in responding frequency.

Here is information about plists generally.

You are likely to find the general Capture One plist at

    users>[your user name]>Library>Preferences>com.phaseone.captureone11.plist

and some other plists the app uses in some of the subfolders at

    users>[your user name]>Library>Application Support>Capture One

    Ian

Edited to add: if something has gone wrong with how the app is working it is possible that the plist has been corrupted. If you delete it, the app will create a new (presumably OK) one when it next starts. To be ultra-cautious you would rename it or just move it somewhere else rather than just delete it, so that you could put it back again if need be.
